Springs Creative Distribution Center
Springs Creative's Distribution Center was purchased and started operations in its current location on March 3, 2007. Previously, the warehouse was used by Springs Industries for roll storage. Facts about the Distribution Center:
- Warehouse measures approximately 450,000 sq. ft.
- 28 dock doors are along the front dock
- Six dock spaces are on the back dock
- The original portion was built in the 1940s
- Additional warehouse space was added in the 1960s
- Warehouse comprised of 21 different sized smaller rooms
1st floor – Pick and Pack – Double and Roll – Administrative Offices – Shipping and Receiving
2nd floor – Finished Good Packing (Direct to Consumer) – Promotional Goods Packing – Rollstock Storage – Quality Assurance – Batching (Single Doubling)
3rd Floor – Bulk Storage – Specialty Fabrics
- Two service elevators and two freight lifts move product between floors
- 45 fork lifts are in service throughout the warehouse
- Six double and roll machines
- Four measuregraph machines
- 95 associates combine to work 3 shifts
- The DC ships to all states in the U.S. as well as 17 foreign countries
- More than 10.3 million yards of fabric is in the warehouse (as of 1/18/10)
- Roughly 1,920 different styles of inventory (as of 1/18/10)
